Jayne Eyre- Quick Review
I absolutely loved this book. All of the characters are unique and interesting, their motivations are well-thought out, and the writing powering it all is wonderful. It is one of the only books to get me deeply and thoroughly invested in a romance to the point where I teared up as the romance reached its apex (the other book being Pride and Prejudice). The book also has several great themes to it, as it explores the nature of Christianity and how it is twisted by people who lord it over others while also exploring the nature of love and whether it is better to be married to someone for convenience or for true affection. All in all, the read was fantastic and I loved almost every minute of it.
My only complaint is that the book takes a while to get going. I found the opening chapters a little boring and was not fully invested in the book until she moved away from her school (which happens about a third of the way through).
